Planning for baby’s first Christmas is such an exciting milestone. The decorations, the outfits, the clothing, and of course, the gifts!
It can be so hard to choose, though. There are so many toys, so much advertising and branding being thrown at us parents. Buy this, buy that! You can’t live without this!
But, what they don’t tell us is: Are these toys actually safe and non-toxic for our little ones that constantly mouth and chew everything? Are they eco-friendly and good for the environment? Am I going to regret that this toy eats up batteries and has no volume knob later? (The answer to the last question is yes. Yes, you will always regret it.)

Green Toys is one my favorite brands because all of their toys are made in the USA from 100% recycled material. This cute shape sorting toy is really great for developing motor skills. Also, it’s not one of those toys babies outgrow quickly – toddler enjoy shape sorters, too!

It’s a great toy to help your baby really engage in and enjoy tummy time. The only downside of this toy is that it’s made from polyester, which is not a very eco-friendly material. But it seems like most soft baby books are made of a polyester type of material to make them water proof, for little teethers.

It seems like there’s a little controversy over Melissa & Doug products in the crunchy mom community, but from what I’ve researched their company is quite environmentally conscious. Melissa & Doug are “dedicated to helping protect and preserve our planet’s natural resources for our children’s future.” They are carbon neutral and are part of a program that plants a new tree for every tree used. Anyway, this Flip Fish Toy is soft, easy to clean, and full of interesting textures and vibrant colors which is great for baby’s brain development.
#11: Little Bamber Teether

Bambeado makes a lot of really cute teething products with safe, natural materials. Little Bamber stands out as a teether because it’s made of Baltic amber and natural rubber, and this is the first amber necklace alternative I’ve seen. I’m not a big fan of the amber teething necklaces because they can be a choking hazard. Some say that Baltic amber can be helpful for teething pain, and while science has yet to confirm this, it’s still a cute, soothing teether.
