Dear mamas all around the world,
I see you. I know you are doing the best you can.
When you let your baby watch another episode of Baby Bum so you can poop in peace, you are doing the best you can.
When you give your toddler a second pack of fruit snacks, so you can make it through this car ride, you are doing the best you can.
When your kid says you’re ruining his life because you sent him outside and made him take a break from video games, and in your head you’re yelling “right back at ya,” you are doing the best you can.
When you’ve been cleaning your house All. Day. Long. But it still looks like a home day care- not just any home day but one that would be shut down for code violations. You are doing the best you can..
We are all doing the best we can. That’s all we can do.
We all love our children so much it hurts. It shows in everything that we do, whether that thing is a nutritious meal, a clean home, or just trying to hold our heads up and make it through another day.
So, this Mother’s Day- better yet this Mother’s year, let’s let go of the mommy guilt. You are an amazing mama! You have nothing to feel guilty about! You were doing the best you could in that moment.
Nobody knows what they’re doing when they step into the shoes of motherhood. We’re all figuring it out.
We are all good moms around here.
Be proud of yourself and how far you’ve come.
Be proud of the amazing little humans you created.
Enjoy your Mother’s Day. You deserve it.
